Yelapa’s beach is covered in a blanket of golden sand and is a superb place to swim, snorkel and relax. For many years, the tiny fishing village of Yelapa was a getaway of Bob Dylan, Dennis Hopper, and other cosmic caballero types who gathered in search of lonely beaches, good tequila, and quiet tranquility.

The thick and beautiful jungle is home to all species of creatures, parrots, land crabs, frogs, scorpions, iguanas, many different birds. You’ll see a lot of insects, including the flashes of the firefly’s romantic calls, you will see bats flying around eating of the abundant insect population, crabs that come out of their underground caves to find food by the streams and on the beach, birds, crickets, cicadas, toads and frogs that chant incessantly, the sound of the jungle is varied, constant and fascinating.
You can join one of our experienced guides on a walking tour to the waterfalls, or you can rent a horse if walking is not your speed (separate fee applies).

The Marietas are a small group of uninhabited islands a few miles off the North coast of Banderas Bay – with its closest town being Punta de Mita. Its two main volcanic islands date from around 60,000 years ago, one is called Isla Redonda (Round Island) and the other Isla Larga (Long Island, no relationship to the one in NY).

A total of 115 species of fish, sharks, and rays have been described, plus 10 mammal species including dolphins and whales. There are also more than 200 species that are part of the coral reef and 11 reptile species including iguanas, lizards, rattlesnakes and sea and earth turtles.
We get a lot of requests for stops to Hidden Beach/Love Beach on our tours to the Marietas Islands. So we’d like to offer our take on this very secluded and in demand destination. This secret beach is but a strip of sand in the Marietas Islands that cannot be seen from sea or reached by land – you have to travel by boat then swim underwater to get to it.
Once we arrive at Hidden Beach, you will have access to the beach where you can explore the famous coves and take pictures to commemorate your adventure.
Hidden Beach is only open from Wednesday to Sunday and has limited access of only 100 people each day. It’s a separate charge of US$80/mx$1500 per person to go there, and for those who’ve been, it’s well worth the price of admission.

Los Arcos National Marine Park is located between two beaches, Mismaloya beach, and Las Gemelas. It’s known for its scenic vistas, abundance of tropical fish, hidden caves, deep tunnels, arches and a striking reef. It is said that the waters around the islands are also the deepest in the bay, with a depth ranging from 9 to 480 meters (30 and 1,600 feet).Many years ago these magnificent natural formations of the bay, were called “Las Peñas”. This is where, John Huston decided to film part of the movie “Night of the Iguana” in the early 60’s.
At Los Arcos Marine Park in Puerto Vallarta there are gorgeous islands to visit, magnificent reefs to dive, awesome tunnels to swim through, and secret caves to explore, providing plenty of the arches that give Los Arcos (the Arches) its name.
This protected area and is a popular snorkeling spot. Los Arcos is protected sanctuary for various seabirds such as Pelicans, Bobos and some species of parrots, and is famous for its abundant wildlife, both above and below the ocean’s surface,. It’s great diversity of marine life makes it one of the best locations in the world for scuba diving and snorkeling.

If you’ve ever checked out a map of Banderas Bay, chances are you’ve seen that Punta de Mita is the uppermost tip of the bay.
This extremely pretty peninsula with absolutely gorgeous beaches and views of both the bay and the open water has always been a popular weekend getaway from Puerto Vallarta.
Punta Mita tours, like many small communities north of Puerto Vallarta has a bit of everything. El Anclote serves as the “town,” and hosts a number of small shops, art galleries and restaurants located along Ave. El Anclote, a broad boardwalk that runs parallel to the bay and beaches.
El Anclote in Punta de Mita is the best way to get to a host of aquatic activities that include fishing, diving, and paddle boarding, and it’s ideal for whale watching (December to March).

Sayulita, Mexico is a small fishing village about 35 Kilometers north of Puerto Vallarta crossing into the state of Nayarit, Mexico. Its population is about 4000 but grows to over 10,000 during the tourist season.
Sayulita was established in 1941 when the first families arrived from the mountains of Jalisco and from there the town of Sayulita was born. Since then more and more families found this little village a piece of paradise.
First thing about Sayulita, is it’s very easy to get around – local Taxis and bikes to rent are everywhere, and you can pretty much walk to wherever you like.
Sayulita is off the beaten path and has tremendous growth and now is home to many Canadians and Americans. It is also home to many of the indigenous Indian tribes of the Huichol. They even have a Huichol center for cultural survival which displays artifacts and art made the members of the Huichol tribe.
Humpback whales, Bryde’s whales and a wide variety of dolphins and whales inhabit the waters of Nayarit Due to its geographical location, oceanographic features, and infrastructure, this bay has been slight grain as an important breeding ground for some species such as the humpback whale.
In the 1960s Sayulita was discovered by the surfers because of the river mouth and consistent surf breaks. Just after this discovery, the construction of Highway 200 was born connecting the popular city of Puerto Vallarta to Sayulita. Sayulita was quick to be known as the surfer’s paradise.
